Arts in the U.K.

Each time I dip into U.K. websites, I'm amazed at the volume of opportunities available for arts practitioners. It matters not the genre - writers, visual artists, fibre artists - all have a venue. I got an email yesterday from "Artists & Writers" listing avenues for underrepresented groups, including the disabled and "working class."
Not only were there magazine publications, but bursaries, event tickets and transportation, courses, residencies, older authors, work shadowing and mentoring. The arts are an integral part of Britain, Scotland and Ireland, valued and supported. It does the heart good.
